Brewer, Fried Interviewed About Senate Race

Mark Brewer, a political science professor at UMaine, commented in the New York Times political blog The Caucus about Maine’s U.S. Senate race. Brewer said Democrat U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree, who has announced she will not run for Senate, likely bowed out of the race because her House seat was going to be safe for her. Brewer was also interviewed by the National Journal. UMaine political scientist Amy Fried told Maine Public Broadcasting Network radio Pingree would have been a strong contender, but her decision not to run was a safe move on the part of the Democrats.
