Professors Explain Internet Piracy Controversy

University of Maine associate professor of new media Jon Ippolito and George Markowsky, professor and associate director of the UMaine School of Computing and Information Science, were interviewed for a 6 p.m. Channel 7 (WVII) news report Wednesday on proposed Congressional Internet piracy legislation. The proposal, designed to stem the unauthorized distribution of copyrighted content on the Internet, is a bad idea that will generate unintended consequences, Ippolito and Markowsky said.
