The University of Maine will meet on the following dates during the 2012-2013 academic year.
Thursday, November 1-Friday November 2, 2012 in Orono. Board members and their guests are invited to join the President and his Cabinet for dinner Thursday night. Members and guests are also invited to enjoy Black Bear hockey with Paul and Grace Ferguson in the President’s Skybox Friday evening. Thursday, May 2-Friday, May 3, 2013 in Portland. Please note that this meeting has been scheduled in Portland to coincide with our annual Stillwater Society Dinner which honors donors whose cumulative giving to the University of Maine totals $25,000 or more. This black tie optional event will be held at the Marriott Sable Oaks in South Portland on Friday evening. Spouses or guests are welcome for the dinner. Many past and current members of the BOV have chosen to become members of our Stillwater Society. New members are honored at each event.
BOV members typically join us on campus or at another strategic location for a social hour and dinner on the evening before a more formal meeting the following day, which typically begins with breakfast and ends at 3:00 p.m. with an executive session of the board. We also invite members to arrive early or stay late to take advantage of special (optional) activities, such as games, performances, and lectures. Members of the BOV Executive Committee typically meet in the President’s Conference Room in 200 Alumni Hall prior to the social hour.
BOV members are encouraged to attend other campus events that are held throughout the year.
The University of Maine System Board of Trustees meetings are held every other month and are open to the public.
