So, You’ve Submitted an Application – What’s Next?
After applying to be a DJ, our Program Director will schedule an interview with you.
During the interview, we will discuss your vision of your show, music selection (if applicable), and your place in the WMEB community.
NOTE: WMEB has grown immensely in the past few years thanks to a strong community of listeners and DJs. We now have live broadcasts 84 hours a week! This means available time slots are limited and flexibility in scheduling is a key determinant in whether any given applicant will get on air.
If the interview goes well, your radio show aligns with the mission and philosophy of WMEB, and scheduling works out, you’ll be invited to Radio 101.
During Radio 101 you will meet WMEB staff, learn more about the station, schedule your show, and learn about our broadcasting policies and procedures.
After that, you will shadow an already existing DJ’s show. This is when onboarding becomes more hands-on.
Once you’ve shadowed a show and you get the confirmation from our Program Director, you are all set to hit the airwaves. During your first show, a staff member will be present. After that, it’s all you!
