On-campus students are asked to:

  • Use the restroom on their floor, wearing a face covering whenever not in their room (except when showering, washing face, brushing teeth). 
  • Arrange for food with the assistance of Dining Services.  Ordering take-out food can cause disease spread and is not allowed.
  • Arrange to continue academic work with Care Manager working with professors and instructors.
  • Abide by instructions from the Care Manager, medical health provider, Maine CDC and university personnel.
  • Not permit guests into the hall or into the room.
  • Not leave the room or the residence hall unless released from quarantine by a medical health provider working with the university or the Maine CDC.
  • Report any issues/questions to the Care Manager assigned and report any change in symptoms
  • Participate in daily medical check-ins with care manager
  • Ask for help or support whenever needed.

Off-campus students are asked to:

Until you are released by University and/or CDC officials, you should stay in place and not leave for any reason. 

 

Any food delivery should be completely contactless, and if you need groceries, some grocery stores will deliver. Shaw’s grocery in Bangor and Instacart will deliver food.

 

  • Do not leave your quarantine location for any non-essential reason.
  • Do wear a face covering, practice physical distancing, wash hands frequently, and sanitize high-touch areas if you have been approved to self-quarantine in a shared living space.
  • Do not have visitors to your quarantine location, unless they have been approved by your health care provider.

 

Please know that breaking quarantine will result in a violation of our conduct code. 

Can I leave my room?

  • You may exit the room only for the following reasons (you must wear a face covering at all times)
    • use the rest room
    • pick up food in the designated location on the floor 
    • in the event of an emergency evacuation (follow directions provided). 
    • You may go outside for a walk for exercise if you are alone, wearing a mask with a 15 foot perimeter. This is for quarantine only, students in isolation are not permitted to leave the isolation building.   

If you are directed by a medical provider to temporarily leave your quarantine location

  • Do walk or drive alone to your destination (avoiding the use of public or shared transportation). 
  • Do wear a face covering and maintain 6 feet of distance from others at all times.
  • Do return immediately to your quarantine location when you are finished.
