What kind of services can Cutler Health Center provide?
We offer a variety of health services at the health center. To name a few, we provide allergy shots, immunizations, lab services, minor surgery, physical exams, women’s healthcare and X-ray. We also collaborate with local providers and have regular clinics for optometry, OB/GYN services, podiatry and therapeutic massage. We also can accommodate walk-in patients on a first-come, first-served basis.

What type of providers will my student see?
Cutler Health Center has a variety of medical providers on-site including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants, an X-ray technician and a wellness educator/athletic trainer.

What if my student is sick on the weekend or at night?
Cutler Health Center has a provider on call 24 hours a day. Call 207.581.4000 after hours if you need medical care. The University Volunteer Ambulance Corps is a full-service ambulance that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a weeks for emergency transports to the hospital. For students who live off campus, Norumbega Medical on Kelley Road in Orono is also open weekends (call 207.866.4399).

Can Cutler Health Center bill my insurance?
Yes, Cuter Health Center is able to bill a parent’s third-party insurance if it covers the student directly. We also accept student health insurance and Healthcare bucks. We ask that students bring their insurance card and co-pay with them when they come in for an appointment. If your insurance is a HMO or managed care plan, please contact your primary care provider to obtain a referral to be seen at Cutler health Center. The referral authorization should be faxed to 207.581.9513. For questions related to this process, please call our referrals specialist at 207.581.4006. If you do not have health insurance, we’ll happily work with you and make sure your student gets the necessary healthcare that he or she needs.
