Family of the Year (Sleuth Award)
We know that families are vital to our students’ success here at UMaine. The Family of the Year award is to honor those families who have supported their student’s in their academics, life, and overall involvement at the University. UMaine defines “family” as an individual or a group of individuals who support a student’s success. Family members can include parents, siblings, grandparents, extended relations, close friends, and even your furry friends! Family members are encouraged to be involved in the University of Maine, either through service of any kind, or their commitment to their student. Nominate your Sleuth below!

Eligibility:
In order to be eligible for the Sleuth Award, a family must be nominated by a current University of Maine student. Student status will be checked upon application submission.
Award Selection:
All entries will be judged in strict confidentiality by the Family of the Year Award Selection Committee. Nominations will be judged on their ability to convey the merit of your nominee’s outstanding involvement in your life and evidence of parent/family enthusiasm for the University of Maine.
Process:
An application can be found below to nominate your family. You will be asked basic identifying, and three short answer questions (300 words or less) on the application. In addition to this there will be a place to submit a photo of your sleuth at the bottom of the page.
