Maximum Work Hour Limits
During the Academic Year:
Policy: 30 hours per week maximum
Recommended: 20 hours per week maximum
International Student Policy: 20 hours per week maximum
Resident Assistants: 20 hours per week maximum per the Resident Assistant Agreement. Permission from direct supervisor is required to work over 20 hours per week.
During breaks longer than 5 consecutive days (e.g., Winter Break, Summer Break):
Policy: 40 hours per week maximum (unless department-funded and pre-approved; no work study may be used for overtime in any circumstance)
International Student Policy: 40 hours per week maximum
