Choose Pay Rate
The Student Pay Scale is evaluated every year to make sure the wages students are receiving are appropriate. We set our minimum wage rate at the State minimum wage rate. The intention of the Step System is to start a student at a Step I or II and to raise them annually. For example, if an undergraduate student begins working in a position in their first year at Step I, they will be at Step IV when they graduate.
If you wish to hire a student above any listed pay scale, you must provide a detailed job description of the responsibilities of the student that warrant a higher pay rate. This is then looked over and approved or denied by our office. As of January 1, 2018, all student hires must fall within the new pay scale except for higher pay exceptions.
