Status of Women Faculty at UMaine

The University of Maine is committed to providing a climate that supports the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women faculty. UMaine’s commitment to this work is evidenced by its support of the ADVANCE Rising Tide Center and the decades of work on campus that preceded the Center’s creation.

At this forum, Provost Hecker, together with faculty from the ADVANCE Rising Tide Center, will provide an update on the status of women faculty at UMaine. We will review UMaine’s efforts in this area including the work of the ADVANCE Rising Tide Center and results from a recent climate survey and salary study. We will also discuss plans for sustaining these efforts as NSF funding for the ADVANCE Rising Tide Center draws to a close in September 2016.

Finally, Provost Hecker will provide an update on the UMS “One University for all of Maine” initiative.
