Summary of group’s work: the working group responded to a survey on the arts at UMaine, toured UMaine performing and visual arts facilities (CCA, Hudson, SPA [Hauck, Minsky, etc.], IMRC Center, Lord Hall Gallery, ZAM), and collected budgetary information. Following discussion, five hypotheses developed, then reduced to four. A fifth later added. These refined and contested, leading to six “community ideas” for action. An “impact analysis” of each is presented, synthesizing working group responses.

“Community idea” highlights: a shared arts programming website (under hypothesis 1); codifying certain budgetary aspects of unit business models (increasing CCA rental shows) (under hypothesis 3); specifying philanthropy needs/targets (under hypothesis 4).
