The revisions for the third Interim report were finished and submitted on Monday. The team was able to obtain some more tacky tape so the infusion for the rear foil could take place. During the infusion process, the team noticed that the resin was not flowing properly so we had Prof. Berube come in and inspect the setup. It turns out that the problem was that there was no peel ply reaching from the edge of the part to the vacuum tube so the team cut open the bag and inserted the peel ply into proper position. The cut was then sealed with tacky tape and the infusion process was resumed. The infusion turned out successful and the wing was completed. The wing is 6 ft long and weighs about 1.5 pounds. The team is continuing to try to connect the two canard pieces together but we have got some ideas from Prof. Berube that we believe will work, as the current connection is not sufficient. Multiple brackets have been machined and the aluminum block for the chassis is almost complete. The last major steps needed are creating the spring and the brackets for it, welding the handlebars to the steering chassis, then putting it all together. We hope to have a functional bike by the end of next week
