Lisa Markowitz — Video Transcript
Hello, I’m Lisa Markowitz, and I’ve had the pleasure of attending two regional JSHS symposiums with my daughter as her home school instructor. What’s really special about JSHS is how it brings together students who are genuinely excited about research and discovery. They have the chance to present their original research to professionals in their fields of interest, which is an incredible experience for them. Communicating complex ideas isn’t easy, but JSHS really gives them the space to learn how to do it well. When students can clearly articulate their research, it opens up opportunities to connect with mentors, peers, professionals who are genuinely interested in their work. Connections like this can lead to meaningful conversations and valuable feedback and sometimes even partnerships. Of course, there’s the added bonus of scholarships. For my daughter, winning a scholarship through JSHS made a real difference in funding her college education, which was so important to us. Overall, JSHS has been an amazing experience. It’s not just about science, it’s about building confidence, making connections, and opening those doors so these young researchers can truly make an impact on their future.
