Regional Finalists’ Awards

Three scholarships totaling $4,500 in undergraduate tuition scholarships were disbursed at the NEN-JSHS to the following student participants.

  • 1st Place received $2,000 – Deetya Nagri – Nashua High School South, New Hampshire
  • 2nd Place received $1,500 – Victoria Wahlig – Falmouth High School, Maine
  • 3rd Place received $1,000 – Aden Geonhee Lee – Phillips Exeter Academy, New Hampshire

National Competition Awards

In addition to scholarships, the U.S. Office of the Secretary of Defense and the U.S. Departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force invite the top five finalists from each Regional Symposium to the National JSHS Symposium to be held May 1-4 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to present their original research; all expenses paid.

The 1st and 2nd place regional finalists will present their research in the oral competition to compete for National JSHS scholarships. The 3rd, 4th and 5th place regional finalists will present their research in the poster competition to compete for cash awards.

  • 4th Place winner – Sylvia Brownlow – Lakes Region High School, Vermont
  • 5th Place winner – Albert Bai – John Bapst High School, Maine

In addition, the University of Maine awarded two poster awards valued at $100 to:

John Kessler – New England Innovation Academy, New Hampshire
