Brad O’Brien
Brad O’Brien is the Assistant Tutor Coordinator and Advisor in the TRIO SSS College Success Program at the University of Maine.
Brad grew up in and around Providence RI and later lived in San Francisco CA before settling in Maine in 2006. After moving to Maine Brad graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine at Augusta with a degree in Liberal Studies with minors in History and Advocacy. As a first-generation graduate, he proudly wore the tri-color cord representing his participation in UMA’s TRIO program at graduation along with cords for honors, student government, and the marshal’s sash.
After several years assisting students in the financial aid office of a private non-profit university, Brad was excited for the opportunity to return to the TRIO family to work with students to aid them in their success in the same way he had been helped by the program.
When not in the office, Brad is a bassist regularly performing in diverse venues and styles around the state. He is also a podcaster, a pet lover (Akasha, his black cat), and an avid Magic: The Gathering player.
