Lauren Ryan

Lauren is a senior Biomedical Engineering student in the Honors College from Babylon, NY. She serves as the Co-Project Coordinator for the Flovolution team. In addition to this capstone project, Lauren is currently working on completing her Honors thesis, studying cellulose nanofibrils for use in biomedical applications.

On campus, Lauren is involved in a wide variety of student organizations, serving as the President of the All Maine Women Honor Society, Secretary of the Society of Women Engineers, Manager of the Maine Day Meal Packout Planning Committee, member of the Senior Class Council, and as a delegate to the Honors Council. Previously, she served as President of the Honors College Student Advisory Board. Additionally, she serves as a Student Ambassador for the Office of Admissions, and is a laboratory research assistant in the Mason Lab. In 2018, Lauren completed a co-op at IDEXX Laboratories in Westbrook, ME. There, she worked under the Rare Reagents Design and Development team, imaging and characterizing immunoassay particles using fluorescent microscopy.

When she is not in class or working (which is not often), Lauren enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her dog, Rufus.
