Health Hazard Detection in Autonomous Vehicles
Our Objective
Due to a lack of a driver that is responsible for the interior of the car in a shared automated electric vehicle, an expected hurdle in the adoption and use of this technology is combating commuter health hazards resulting from bodily fluids or harmful materials and/or objects. An automated, built-in detection system is therefore necessary to indicate these potential hazards. Automated Detection in Vehicles to Improve Cleanliness (ADVIC) is a suite of sensors that monitors potentially harmful changes in the interior of the car and communicates with the consumer and the car company.
- The consumer asks for a car using ride-sharing service app
- A driver-less car arrives to pick up the consumer
- The consumer receives a cleanliness report of the car through the ride-sharing service app
- If the consumer is satisfied, they can enter the car and continue to their destination
