UMaine Innovate for Maine Internships (posted 1-17-2013)
Hi Professor Huisman,
A few years back your class, Women & Immigration, sparked my interests in the immigration field and led me to find an internship at the International Institute of New England (IINE), a refugee resettlement agency. In lieu of my involvement with IINE I was recently hired by the organization as a full time staff member. I am reaching out to you in hopes of extending the opportunity for other UMaine students to intern here at IINE this summer, or further down the road. If you have any students that might be interested in working in the immigration field this would be an exciting opportunity and would be a great place to gain experience. I have attached information for the two programs I directly oversee, but we also have opportunities in our Resettlement, Case Management, and Workforce Development departments as well. More information on those can be found on our website at http://www.iine.us/careers/. If you know of anyone that might interested, please feel free to pass on my information and have them contact me directly.
