Bookstore

The University Bookstore is the official vendor of all things UMaine. From the textbooks, electronics, and school supplies you’ll need to succeed in the classroom to the gear you’ll use to show off your Black Bear pride outside of the classroom, The University of Maine Bookstore has you covered.

Career Center

The Career Center engages and educates students in their career development process, from internships and job listings to resume and interview prep. This mission is a collaborative effort between our staff, students, faculty, employers, and alumni.

Career Center – Health Professions Office

The Health Professions Office, part of the Career Center, maintains information on admission requirements for professional schools. If you are interested in a career in the health professions, you should visit the Career Center at your earliest convenience to register as a pre-health professional student.

Dining Services

Everything we do is focused on the people we serve daily through our dining locations and catering services. We have two dining halls and seven retail locations across the 660 acre University campus in Orono. Our goal is to provide fresh, innovative menus featuring local foods, seasonal ingredients and global cuisine with your favorite comforts from home mixed in. Our team is made up of chefs, production managers, and dining employees from all over the world. We love what we do, and value input from students and staff.

Foster Center for Innovation

The base for UMaine programs and services that support entrepreneurship, business development and commercialization of university research, the center offers academic courses in innovation open to both undergraduate and graduate students and is home to a student business incubator. It also is the birthplace of an innovation curriculum that has been adopted by companies and other universities around the world. The Foster Center provides courses, training, coaching and consulting to students, faculty and staff, startups and established organizations, helping them develop the skills needed to effectively create, test and actualize ideas.

Housing Services

The University of Maine provides on-campus housing in 18 residence halls. Options include traditional undergraduate residence halls for first year and upper-class residents, suite style living for upper-class residents, graduate housing, and several living/learning lifestyle options.

Innovative Media Research and Commercialization Center (IMRC Center)

The IMRC Center is an interdisciplinary research and experiential learning facility that supports the creative intersection of arts and humanities, sciences, and technology. Open to students across all disciplines, the IMRC Center provides prototyping labs, makerspaces, audiovisual production studios, performance spaces, and classrooms, each designed and staffed to welcome, support, and engage.

MaineCard Services

The MaineCard is the official University of Maine ID. Eligible and valid cardholders include full- or part-time students, faculty and staff. While you are associated with the University, the MaineCard is the only card you will need to access facilities, services and optional spending accounts while on campus!

Office of Student Records

The Office of Student Records (OSR) serves as stewards of all UMaine student records. Students who need to submit documents in-person, or who wish to pick up official transcripts and/or verification of enrollment, do not need an appointment during our posted business hours. Duplicate and replacement diplomas are also available, but require advanced notice.

Package & Postal Center

The UMaine Package & Postal Center (formerly the Cubby), located in the Memorial Union, is operated by the UMaine Printing and Mailing Services. It provides package pickup, mailing and shipping services for students, faculty, staff and guests.

Parking Services

The office that manages all parking on campus. You can come here to purchase a parking permit, pay a parking citation, and obtain an appeal form.

UMaine Police Department

The University of Maine Police Department is a full-service police department staffed by state-certified police officers and support personnel 24 hrs a day, 365 days a year. The training and professional standards met by UMaine’s officers are the same as those required in any municipality across the state.
