Essential Steps for Preparing a Proposal
- Submit a Notice of Intent (NOI) in the Proposal Approval Routing System (PARS):
- To initiate the proposal process, please log in to PARS and click on “NEW Proposal” to submit your NOI. This step is crucial as it signals the beginning of the proposal submission process.
- Work with the Assigned Office of Research Administration (ORA) Staff:
- Upon submission of the NOI, you will be assigned a dedicated ORA staff member who will assist you in developing the budget, budget justification, and abstract for your proposal. They will work closely with you to ensure that all necessary documentation is in place.
- Route the Full Proposal through PARS:
- After obtaining budget approval from the ORA, you will need to route the full proposal through PARS. This step involves submitting the project information, budget, justification and abstract through with all required documents for review and approval.
- Prepare the Proposal Package with ORA Staff:
- Once the proposal has been routed through PARS, you will collaborate with the ORA staff to prepare the proposal package. This includes ensuring that all components of the proposal are complete and formatted according to sponsor guidelines.
- Submit the Proposal to the Sponsor:
- Upon completion of the proposal package, it will be submitted to the sponsor for consideration. The ORA staff will facilitate the submission process to ensure timely delivery.
