Literacy nights highlight UMaine’s service to schools and families

The College of Education and Human Development has incorporated literacy nights at area schools into the curriculum for education majors for more than 20 years. It’s an opportunity for UMaine students taking their literacy methods courses to apply some of the knowledge and skills they have picked up in the classroom and to gain hands-on experience working with K–12 students and families.

BDN shares announcement on grant for behavioral intervention program

The Bangor Daily News shared a UMaine news release that the University of Maine Center for Community Inclusion and Disability Studies received a $499,970 grant from the Maine Department of Health and Human Services Office of Aging and Disability Services to conduct a model demonstration project of intensive evidence-based behavioral intervention to help adults with disabilities who are currently subject to restrictive behavior management plans.
