Salon Series: Navigating the Political Landscape featuring Clinical Psychology doctoral student, Cassandra Rowan, M.A.

The Fogler Library Salon series is hosting a discussion Tuesday, October 8th from 6pm – 7:30pm titled, “Navigating the Political Landscape: Mental Health, Social Media, and Constructive Dialogue.”

Join for a discussion around the intricate relationship between mental health, social media, and politics. We’ll explore ways in which social media shapes our political views and, subsequently, impacts our mental wellness. Learn how to “disagree without being disagreeable” by spotting misinformation, groupthink, and logical fallacies. Discover the importance of mindful media consumption and how to create a balance between staying informed and your mental well-being.

This is a hybrid event. It will be recorded. Light refreshments will be served.

Discussants include:

  • Elizabeth DePoy, Ph.D., Professor of Interdisciplinary Disability Studies, Social Work and Cooperating Faculty, School of Policy and International Affairs and Mechanical Engineering
  • Angela Fileccia, LCSW, Director of the Counseling Center (Co-Facilitator)
