Graduate student Sally Swanson awarded research grant on “The Impact of Higher Education on the Science-Religion Relationship”
The International Research Network for the Study of Science and Belief in Society has awarded Sally B. Swanson, a PhD student in Psychological Sciences, a grant of £5,000 for her project, “The Impact of Higher Education on the Science-Religion Relationship: A Social Identity Perspective”. Ms. Swanson’s work will examine the effects of higher education, like earning a UMaine degree, on people’s perceptions of compatibility or conflict between science and religion. The first studies from this work will be presented at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology’s annual conference in February.
