Dr. Michaud specializes in philosophy of religion, the history of philosophy, and philosophical theology. Derek joined the faculty here at his alma mater in 2015 after teaching at Middlesex Community College and the University of Southern Maine. At UMaine, he teaches courses in ethics, religious studies, critical thinking, and the history of philosophy. Dr. Michaud also coordinates the Religious and Judaic Studies interdisciplinary minors at UMaine.  His first book, Reason Turned into Sense: John Smith on Spiritual Sensation, was published by Peeters in 2017.
