Residence Hall Winter Break parking areas open Thursday, December 11.

Red permitted vehicles staying on campus during break must park only within approved lots from Friday, Dec. 19, 5 pm, through Friday, Jan. 16, 2026 at 6 pm to avoid citations and towing.

Where can you park?

Park your vehicle in one of the locations below. Follow posted signs to identify exact parking locations:

  • Hilltop lot south end, commuter section (close to Versant Power Astronomy Center)
  • Steam Plant resident lot, north section
  • South York parking lot (Between York Hall and York Village Complex)

All other red areas are closed during Winter Break for plowing and lot maintenance. A map of these locations is available at umaine.edu/parking.

Overnight Parking Ban: Nov. 1–May 1

The Overnight Parking Ban is in effect during Winter Break.

All faculty/staff (blue) and commuter (black) lots and all roadways and driveways are closed to parking from midnight to 6 a.m. regardless of the weather.

Vehicles parked in violation will be subject to being ticketed and towed at the owners’ expense
