UMaine 2025 Veterans Week activities planned for Nov. 10-14
The University of Maine will celebrate Veterans Week Nov. 10-14 with a series of events hosted by the Veterans Education and Transition Service (VETS) Center in the Division of Student Life.
Throughout the week, the UMaine community is invited to honor and recognize the service and sacrifices of our veterans through the events that foster connection and appreciation.
The celebration begins at noon on Monday, Nov. 10, with a flag-raising ceremony on the Mall led by the Army ROTC Color Guard, followed by a VETS Center Open House in Room 161 of the Memorial Union.
On Tuesday, Nov. 11, classes will not be held in observance of Veterans Day.
Events continue on Wednesday, Nov. 12, from noon-2 p.m. at the VETS Center, where attendees can enjoy refreshments and visit with Ember, a therapy dog from Paws of Hope.
On Thursday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m., the UMaine Veteran Faculty & Staff Community Connection Dinner will be hosted at the VETS Center. The event is presented by the Office for Community and Connections and catered by Hero’s on Wheels, a veteran-owned business.
The week concludes on Friday, Nov. 14, at noon, with a visit from Guitars for Vets, an organization dedicated to helping veterans heal through music.
