It has been one year since many families and individuals changed their way of life. From having to self-isolate to wearing a mask everywhere. This discussion will be around the effects of a yearlong pandemic and how this relates to mental health issues and autism spectrum disorder. What can we do? Will there be a lasting impact?
Dr. Siegel is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Pediatrics of Tufts University School of Medicine, Vice
President of Medical Affairs, Developmental Disorders Service of Maine Behavioral Healthcare, and Faculty Scientist II at Maine Medical Center Research Institute. He has developed a continuum of treatment and research for individuals with autism, intellectual disability and co-occurring mental illness and challenging behaviors.
Emily Siegel, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist with two decades of experience providing mental health services
to youth with developmental disabilities and their families. She worked in the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics department of Maine Medical Center for a decade and is currently in private practice in Yarmouth, Maine.
