Ross Gallagher

Biography

Ross Gallagher was born and raised in East Blue Hill, Maine, and grew up playing piano, marimba, drums, guitar, and electric bass. In his first year of high school, began to play the double bass and compose music, and went on to study Music Composition & Performance at The New School in New York City, where he studied with jazz luminaries Andrew Cyrille, Mark Helias, Ben Street, Tyshawn Sorey and Reggie Workman. Since graduating, he has worked with Bill McHenry, Kenny Wollesen, Marc Ribot, Joe Henry, Terri Lynn Carrington, and Hurrary for the Riff Raff, among others. He currently tours with Paula Cole and performs his own music at venues all along the Eastern Seaboard. He lives in Brooklyn, NY and Bath, ME
