Planning a conference, workshop, or continuing education program?  UMaine’s Professional and Continuing Education office can award CEUs to participants who successfully complete an approved educational activity.

  • All CEU applications must be approved in advance. We are unable to approve educational activities after they have taken place.
  • All conferences, workshops, events, or other learning experiences must file an application for each new instance or date, even if approval has been granted for the same experience in the past.
  • Please submit your application at least 10 business days before your program begins. Using our online application form and payment portal will expedite approval.
  • We will request information about the following components of your learning experience:
    • Outline or agenda
    • Qualifications of the instructor(s)
    • Learning Objectives
    • Learning Outcomes
    • Assessment of Learning
  • A $50 application review fee is required with each application. Payment may be made online (select “CEU Application Processing Fee”), by check (payable to the University of Maine), or by interdepartmental order (IDO) for UMaine departments.
  • Once your application is approved, we will assign a program code to your learning experience. You will also receive a spreadsheet to document each participant who has earned CEUs.
  • After you return your roster, we will contact the participants with information on how to request a transcript.
