The Bangor Daily News, WVFX (Fox 22/ABC7 in Bangor), News Center Maine, and The Ellsworth American highlighted the latest updates to Morse Arena, a new 2,660-seat basketball venue with state-of-the-art conference rooms and weight rooms for the girls and boys teams. In addition the facility will include a room “where fans can enjoy unique food and beverage offerings in a welcoming, first-class envious environment,” named the “Pine Club.” This facility was made possible by a $10 million gift from 1964 UMaine graduates Phillip and Susan Morse, and funding from a $320 million commitment from the Harold Alfond Foundation to the University of Maine System (UMS). That includes a $170 million investment in UMaine Athletics to fund its Athletics Facilities Master Plan as part of UMS TRANSFORMS.
