Astronomy center director Laatsch talks leap year with Fox 22

WFVX (Fox 22 in Bangor) interviewed the director of the Versant Power Astronomy Center & Jordan Planetarium, Shawn Laatsch, about why leap year occurs every four years. “Leap year is to balance out our calendars. The Earth takes 365 and a quarter days to orbit the sun, and every four years we add that extra day because of the earth’s rotation around the sun,” said Laatsch.
