Composites World highlights fiber-reinforced materials research at UMaine

In an article titled, “Scaling up sustainable solutions for fiber-reinforced composites” Composites World highlighted the Hub & Spoke Sustainable Materials & Manufacturing Alliance for Renewable Technologies (SM²ART) program. A collaboration between Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the University of Maine Advanced Structures and Composites Center and industrial partners, this program has shown that bio-fiber-reinforced composites can be scaled up for applications in construction.
