  • American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowships
    • Who can apply?
      •  Individuals identifying as women who are pursuing graduate and postgraduate studies at U.S. institutions.
    • Overview: 
      • For graduate study
      • Recipients are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls
      • For any field of study
    • Benefits:
      • Masters: $20,000
      • Doctoral: $25,000
      • Postdotoral: $50,000
    • Deadline: Mid-November

 

  • Davis Putter Scholarship
    • Who can apply?
      • Undergraduate or graduate students who display financial need
    • Overview:
      • Need-based
      • Applicants must be involved in movements for progressive social change
      • For any field of study
    • Benefits:
      • Average grant: $7,500
      • Max award: $15,000
    • Deadline: Early April

 

  • Scoville Peace Fellowship
    • Who can apply?
      • Individuals who received a bachelor’s or master’s degree within the past few years
      • Individuals should have a strong interest in issues of peace and security
    • Overview: 
      • Invites recent college and graduate school alumni to apply for full-time, six-to-nine month fellowships in Washington, DC.
      • Non-U.S. citizens are encouraged to apply as long as they live in U.S. and have a work visa
    • Benefits:
      • Full-time 6-9 month fellowship in Washington, DC working with nonprofit, public interest organizations addressing peace and security issues
    • Deadline: Early October

 

  • Horowitz Foundation Social Science Grants
    • Who can apply?
      • Applicants must be current PhD (or DrPH) candidates who are working on dissertations
    • Overview:
      • Supports the advancement of research in the social sciences (anthropology, sociology, global policy, archeology, etc.)
      • Projects should have social policy application at local or global level
    • Benefits:
      • Each grant is worth a total of $7,500
    • Deadline: December

 

  • Mayo Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program
    • Who can apply?
      • A rising junior or senior with a GPA of at least 3.0
      • STEM majors
      • Applicants should be considering a biomedical research career as a Ph.D. or M.D.-Ph.D.
    • Overview:
      • Students spend 10 weeks at a Mayo clinic campus (selection includes Jacksonville, FL; Scottsdale, AZ; and Rochester, MN)
      • Students participate in research projects with the goal of advancing their skills in a biomedical lab
    • Benefits:
      • Fellowship stipend is $6,000 for 10 weeks
    • Deadline: Early February

 

  • DAAD-RISE Germany
    • Who can apply?
      • Undergraduates in the STEM fields who have completed at least 2 years of a degree program
      • German language is not required
    • Overview:
      • Offers undergraduate students from North American, British, and Irish universities the opportunity to complete a summer research internship at top German universities and research institutions
    • Benefits:
      • Stipend for 3 months, health insurance, airfare, three-day conference in Heidelberg
    • Deadline: December

 

  • Phi Kappa Phi Scholarships and Fellowships
    • There are currently 11 different awards provided by the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Most opportunities, while open to international students and domestic students, require membership. Please see the Phi Kappa Phi website for more details on the various awards and the induction process.
