Maine Child Development Services (CDS)/Maine Department of Education: CDS provides services for families/caregivers who have young children (birth through 5 years) suspected of having, or diagnosed with special needs. Regional CDS sites provide screenings and evaluations, case management and direct instruction to families, and arrange for early intervention, special education, and related services to qualifying children. Office of Special Services/Maine Department of Education: The Office of Special Services provides oversight and support for the delivery of all special education
services in Maine under the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), including Part C (birth-to-3 years) and Part B (age 3-to-20 years).
PreK-12 Resources for Educators and Families: New website developed by the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development to help address the demand for reliable resources related to remote learning and other issues related to the educating and supporting students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Offers links to research-supported information including social-emotional learning, trauma-informed teaching, special education, literacy, STEM education and more.
Maine Association for Community Service Providers (MACSP): MACSP is an association of organizations that provide support and services to children and adults with developmental and other cognitive disabilities. Organizations work with Maine state bureaus, offices and departments to provide quality services to Maine people. Member directory listings for service providers throughout Maine.
