Volunteer For Commencement
The University of Maine will celebrate its commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 8, 2026, and Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Alfond Arena on campus. The schedule is as follows:
Volunteers are requested to be on-site by 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8th and by 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 9th for the morning ceremony, and 12:00 p.m. for the afternoon ceremony.
Commencement is a true community celebration and the highlight of the academic year. It represents not only the achievements of our graduating students, but also the dedication and support of the administration, staff, and faculty who have helped them reach this milestone. Graduates and their families look forward to sharing this special moment with all of us.
These ceremonies are the largest events the University hosts each year, and volunteers are essential to their success. From welcoming guests to assisting graduates, volunteers play a vital role in showcasing our culture of excellence to students, families, friends, and the broader community.
