Instructional Design (Graduate Certificate)
About
Our 100% online Instructional Design graduate certificate creates leaders in the theory and practice of designing and assessing effective instructional design. You’ll gain skills to enhance your capacity for delivering instruction, your ability to work with others planning for instruction, and your ability to work in project management and collaborative environments. The four course (12 credit) certificate is sequenced so students build knowledge as they advance in the program, starting with an introduction to instructional design and project management before moving to advanced instructional design; supporting technology integration through professional development and coaching; and capping off with a practicum in instructional design that is specific to the individual learning and professional goals of each student.
The collaborative graduate programs in Instructional Technology are housed in the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development with courses taught by faculty at UMaine, the University of Maine at Farmington, and the University of Southern Maine.
Our graduate certificates can be completed as focused, standalone professional learning credentials or as part of a master’s or Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree program.

Advising & SUpport
The College of Education and Human Development provides students with academic guidance and personal support before they set foot on campus through graduation and beyond. For students wishing to continue on in graduate school, the credits earned in the Computational Thinking for Educators graduate certificate program can be applied toward a master’s or Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree.
