Our 100% online High Leverage Practices to Promote Inclusion graduate certificate provides experienced educators with the practical tools and knowledge to implement instructional changes that promote diversity and foster inclusivity in classrooms and school-wide. When used together, high-leverage practices (HLPs) and evidence-based practices (EBPs) become powerful tools for improving student outcomes. Many states and districts are implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to increase the success of all students. HLPs and EBPs are ideal complementary practices for implementing MTSS. The graduate certificate in High Leverage Practices to Promote Inclusion includes five courses (15 credits) and has two tracks:

This 15-credit graduate certificate is offered entirely online and designed to meet the busy schedule of practicing teachers and other educators. Our graduate programs in Special Education are intended to help our graduates attain the professional knowledge and competencies outlined by the Council for Exceptional Childrenโs Professional Preparation Standards. The standards describe the necessary skills and expertise for practicing special education teachers. The Council for Exceptional Children is the premiere professional organization for special education.
Careers
Schools and districts around the United States are in need of highly qualified special educators to address shortages and replace teachers who retire or leave the profession for other reasons. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual salary for special education teachers is more than $64,000. In addition, research has shown that educators with graduate degrees have better job satisfaction and are more likely to stay in the profession as they advance in their careers.ย
For students wishing to continue on in graduate school, the credits earned in the High Leverage Practices to Promote Inclusion graduate certificate program can be applied toward a masterโs or Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree.
