The University of Maine School of Performing Arts is extremely proud and humble to have been granted the privilege to perform a work of great beauty and importance – one inspired by tragic events. Deeply moved by the murder of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man, acclaimed conductor Craig Hella Johnson composed an evocative and compassionate musical response that leaves audiences hopeful and joyous.
Some of UMaine’s most talented vocal performers, under the leadership of Rebecca DeWan, will bring this powerful and important piece to life. We hope that you will join us at the Collins Center for the Arts at 3:00 PM on November 9 for this incredible work.
