News Center talks with Dill, Rounsville, Ballman about tick testing, citizen science project

News Center Maine spoke with Griffin Dill, manager of the Cooperative Extension tick lab at the University of Maine, and Thomas Rounsville, molecular diagnostic professional, about the services available at the tick lab, including tick identification and pathogen testing. Data about where the ticks are encountered is also gathered to provide information about Maine’s tick populations. In a separate story, News Center Maine talked with Elissa Ballman, a UMaine research associate and citizen science coordinator with the Maine Forest Tick Survey project.
