UMaine’s 2026 student art exhibition is opening at Lord Hall

Lord Hall Gallery at the University of Maine is opening the Department of Art’s 2026 Student Exhibition. It will run from April 6 through May 1 with a public reception on Friday, April 10 from 5-7 p.m., during which selected students will receive awards.

The exhibition will display a wide variety of artwork made by UMaine students including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, printmaking, digital art, photography, graphic design and more.

Students who were enrolled in an art class in the fall 2025 semester or spring 2026 semester had the opportunity to submit up to six pieces for consideration in this juried exhibition. This year’s juror is artist Rochelle Lawrence, who also serves as the assistant curator and museum educator at UMaine’s Zillman Art Museum.

Lord Hall is free, accessible and open to the public Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Please direct all questions to Diana Baumbach, director of galleries, at
