Artifact at UMaine that inspired original Seahawks logo featured by media

As SuperBowl LX nears, Spectrum News and WFVX (FOX 22/ABC 7 in Bangor) featured the artifact that inspired the original Seattle Seahawks logo: a transformation mask made by the Kwakwaka’wakw and located at the University of Maine Hudson Museum. “The Hudson Museum is a museum of world cultures, and this particular mask is in our world cultures gallery,” museum Director Gretchen Faulkner told Spectrum. “To have an object that an NFL team’s logo was designed from is really extraordinary.”
