Your UMS Account

Your UMS Account must be activated in order to register a device. If you have your ID# and Activation Key, visit accounts.maine.edu. Click the Account Activation link and follow the instructions on that page. For additional information or support, please contact the Help Desk at 1.800.696.4357.

Network Resources

Connect to Wireless

When connecting to wireless on campus, please connect to Eduoroam. This provides you with the best network connectivity for your needs at UMaine. If your device does not support Eduoram, create a ticket so we can come up with a solution for you.

How do I connect to Eduroam? Windows, Mac, Android/iOS.

VPN

The Remote Access VPN service is used to provide a secure connection to access and use campus network resources when you are not on campus.

The Restricted VPN services is used for specific resources.

Media Services

UM Media Services provides a wide range of services to help you in the classroom, with Zoom, and supporting Events.

Computer Purchasing

UMS IT provides a standard selection of Dell and Apple computers for you to choose from. If you are a researcher and have computing needs that can’t be met by our standards, please fill out Research and Non-Standard Purchase Form.

Adobe Purchasing

Any staff or faculty member in the University of Maine System needing Adobe products can purchase one of four apps directly from the GovConnection punch-out. This article walks you through the process of purchasing the needed apps.

Campus Printing

All UMS IT managed devices already include connectivity for printing to all Xerox devices. All campuses throughout the UMS use PaperCut Managed Print Services with Xerox multifunction printer/copier devices. Print jobs sent to the Print Server are available to securely print at all Xerox devices across all campuses. Print jobs can only be submitted using on-campus wired or wireless networks.

Remote Labs

This service provides access to computers that have specific University licensed software installed and running.  Remote Computer Lab connection may be the solution.

MyCampus Portal

The UMaine Portal is used to access internal information and forms from departments such as the Office of Human Resources, Office of Student Financial Aid, and information related to university operations and services including you email, calendar, cloud storage

eWaste

UM IT now handles the collection and removal of all your eWaste needs. We have partnered with GiveITGetIT to safely and securely dispose of all campus eWaste with a focus on reusing equipment to organizations around the state.

Zoom Resources

Each UMS Faculty, Staff, and Student receives access to a ZoomPro account directly connected to their UMS Account. Whether you are taking a class or joining meetings, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with our web conferencing tool.

Please be certain to always use your UMS account or full @maine.edu account when logging into Zoom to ensure access to all the features provided with your institutional account.
