  • All nominations must be submitted by the Unit's Graduate Coordinator. If you are not the Graduate Coordinator, please send your nomination to them so that they may submit all unit nominations.

  • Number of Anticipated Credits

    Please indicate the number of credit hours the student anticipates taking in Year 1 and 2 of the award. Doctoral students who have passed their comprehensive examinations require only one (1) credit hour per semester (including summer) to maintain full-time status. Thus the minimum number of credit hours per years is 3.
  • Supporting Documentation

    Please include the following supporting documents as one (1) PDF file: A Letter of Support, Dissertation Abstract (written by the student), Student CV, and Faculty CV.

    By checking this box, I certify that both the faculty advisor and the nominated student have carefully read the Janet Waldron Doctoral Research Fellowship guidelines and policies, and that the student: (a) will have been a full-time doctoral student at UM for at least 12 months prior to the anticipated award date; (b) intends to maintain full-time status during the entire term of their doctoral studies at UM; and (c) will not accept more than 10 hours of additional employment while serving as a JWDRF. Students receiving awards will be asked to re-verify this information in their award letters.
