Meet the outstanding students from the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development’s Class of 2026!
Kate Evans: Outstanding
Graduating Student

Kate Evans of Bangor, Maine, is the 2026 Outstanding Graduating Student for the College of Education and Human Development. A double major in secondary education and Spanish, Evans completed student teaching placements at Hermon High School and Bangor High School. After graduating she plans to stay in the Bangor region and teach Spanish at a local high school.
Hamidah Aldarwish: Outstanding
Graduating International Student

Hamidah Aldarwish of Dammam, Saudi Arabia, is the 2026 Outstanding Graduating International Student for the College of Education and Human Development. A child development and family relations major, Aldarwish completed her capstone internship at UMaine’s Children’s Center with a focus on the application of observational and developmental principles in early childhood settings.
Outstanding Undergraduate Students
The Outstanding Graduating Students by major or concentration are selected by faculty and staff of the College of Education and Human Development based on a variety of factors, including the students’ performance in the classroom, in their student teaching, internships or clinical placements, and service to the fields of education and human development. In addition, each year students are selected for two college-wide awards: the Dean’s Award and the Undergraduate Research Award.
