KPE majors Wilson, Feid earn America East all-academic honors
Two kinesiology and physical education student-athletes have been named to the America East Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team. Mackenzie Wilson, a double major in KPE and French, finished the spring semester with a 3.74 GPA. Wilson had an impressive season competing in the hammer throw for the Black Bears, setting a new University of Maine record in the event (61.59 m) before finishing the season as America East champion (60.09 m) and being ranked No. 22 in the nation, earning a bid to the NCAA preliminary round. Julia Feid, a KPE major with a concentration in teaching/coaching-health, had a 3.77 GPA. She was the America East champion in the javelin (44.53 m) and had a throw earlier in the season that was second all-time at UMaine (44.77 m).
