BDN features TeachLivE lab on page one
The TeachLivE classroom simulator at the University of Maine College of Education and Human Development was featured in a front page article in the Bangor Daily News on Monday, Sept. 21. UMaine is one of about 65 colleges and universities across the country to use the technology, which allows teacher candidates to practice on virtual students before going out in the field as student teachers. COEHD Interim Dean Susan Gardner is quoted in the article, saying TeachLivE has the potential to help future teachers learn and practice techniques. “Teaching is one of those professions that, often, people underestimate how challenging it can be,” Gardner says. The TeachLivE lab will go live later this year in 207 Shibles Hall on the UMaine campus.
