Teresa Johnson

Johnson is an interdisciplinary, marine social scientist with expertise in applied anthropology and human ecology. With a focus on people and communities, Johnson studies participatory science and management, adaption to social and environmental change, and institutions for governing marine social-ecological systems. Her current research investigates socioeconomic and policy dimensions of marine fisheries, aquaculture, marine energy, and rural coastal regions.

In addition to her research, Johnson balances time between teaching undergraduate and graduate courses about marine policy and marine social science and advising graduate and undergraduate students in the School of Marine Sciences and the Ecology and Environmental Sciences program.
