Recognizing UMaine Faculty/Staff for Creating Positive Learning Experiences for Non-Traditional* Undergraduate Students

Commuter and Non-Traditional Student Programs (CNTSP) and  The Non- traditional Student Association (NSA) are accepting letters of nominations for UMaine faculty and staff members who have shown sensitivity to the diverse learning styles and the multifaceted lives of non-traditional undergraduate students. Through their student interactions, teaching and program design, these faculty and staff recognize the rich contributions that non-traditional students make to the University of Maine. These UMaine faculty/staff have created positive learning experiences for non-traditional* undergraduate students.

The nominated faculty or staff  have provided support, assistance and or advocacy for the non-traditional students at the University of Maine. These nominated faculty or staff interact positively with non-traditional students and support their student experience. The nomination letter should include examples of interactions, teaching and program design that reflect the nominees’ understanding and helpful response to the needs of non- traditional undergraduate students.

    Letters of nomination should state clearly the nominee’s strengths and how he /she has provided support and assistance that encourages the success of non traditional students at UMaine. Multiple nominations of an individual staff or faculty are encouraged
