Winter Break Parking

Residence Hall Winter Break parking areas open Thursday, Dec. 11

Cars parked covered in snow

Red permitted vehicles staying on campus during break must park only within approved lots from Friday, Dec. 19, 5 p.m., through Friday, Jan. 16, 2026 at 6 p.m. to avoid citations and towing.

Where can you park?

Park your vehicle in one of the locations below. Follow posted signs to identify exact parking locations:

  • Hilltop lot south end, commuter section
  • (close to Versant Astronomy Center)
  • Steam Plant resident lot, north section
  • South York parking lot
  • (between York Hall and York Village Complex)

All other red areas are closed during Winter Break for plowing and lot maintenance. A map of these locations is available at umaine.edu/parking.

Please see UMaine’s accessible Campus Map for specific coordinates and details: https://umaine.edu/campus-map/.

**Break Parking is denoted by the three areas within the purple squares. Please print this map for your reference.
