New nature docu-series by Sarnacki coming to Maine Public
A new docu-series about Maine nature by Aislinn Sarnacki, a lecturer with the University of Maine Department of Communication and Journalism, is premiering Maine Public television at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14 Maine Public television.
“Borealis” is a multimedia outdoors series that explores the state as Sarnacki and her colleagues, hike, bike, fish and surf. It will also feature conservationists, citizen scientists, outdoor recreation enthusiasts and others dedicated to preserving Maine’s outdoor spaces and sharing them with everyone.
Maine Public will rebroadcast episodes on “Borealis” at 2 p.m. on Fridays and 5 p.m. on Sundays. Bonus content will be featured on the station’s YouTube channel and social media. More information is available on the Maine Public website. Sarancki also discussed the program on a recent segment of “Maine Calling.”
Sarnacki teaches writing, editing and journalism courses at UMaine. She earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism here in 2010. She also writes for the Bangor Daily News and other local media outlets, and has published several books on hiking in Maine.
